Notable Fixes/Changes in Version 1.0a
- Networking Options have been added to allow you to configure a proxy server override. If you need to specify a proxy server to access feeds and the Gracenote Media Database, click the Networking button in the Settings pane and use the controls on the Networking Options page.
- A bug has been fixed that could cause PSP™ Media Manager to crash on startup.
- A bug has been fixed that could prevent episodes from being deleted even if you had selected the Delete all downloaded files check box when removing the feed.
- A bug that prevented compressed-format WAV files from being encoded to MP3 has been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed that could cause audio/video synchronization offsets when re-encoding QuickTime video.
- A bug has been fixed that caused tracks to be numbered incorrectly when transferring more than 99 tracks.
Known Issues
- If you have a USB SmartMedia reader device installed on your PC, you may experience problems when you attempt to access your CD drive from PSP™ Media Manager software for extracting audio from CDs. This is due to an error in the SmartMedia reader driver. Using the Unplug or Eject Hardware Wizard to remove the reader should allow PSP™ Media Manager software to function normally.
- If you’ve formatted a Memory Stick Duo using Windows Explorer or if you’re using a new Memory Stick, please reformat using the PSP™ system. For more information, please refer to the documentation included with the PSP™ system.
- The software supports unprotected media files. Files purchased via Connect, iTunes or other services are encoded with DRM (digital rights management) and cannot be transferred via PSP™ Media Manager software.
An hourglass appears the first time you open a folder containing several photo, music, or video files. The files are available, but there may be a pause before they are displayed in the software. - QuickTime® 7 is required to preview Sony AVC/AAC (*.mp4) video files on your PC. If you are having difficulty previewing video, check the following QuickTime setting: From the Edit menu, choose QuickTime Preferences. Click the File Types tab and expand the MPEG – MPEG system, video, and audio files category. Select the MPEG-4 media check box, and then close QuickTime.
- QuickTime 7 is required to transfer MPEG4 part 2 (*.mp4) video files from your PC.
Attempting to extract audio from a CD while the disc is playing in a media player can cause playback problems and can freeze the application. - You may experience problems if your My Documents folder is mapped to a network drive and your network connection is slow. In this case, copy your music, photos and videos to a local drive and PSP™ Media Manager will function properly.
- If you experience problems transferring files from a network drive or a USB/IEEE-1394 removable drive, copy the files to a local hard drive and retry the transfer.
- PSP™ Media Manager supports feeds created using the RSS 2.0 (with enclosures) specification.
Web feeds can contain many types of media, including those not supported by PSP™ Media Manager. Unsupported media enclosures will not transfer to the PSP™ system.
