It blows my mind that there isn’t a sense of unity in Sony product releases across the world. Often enough we will see devices released in certain regions that would never be released anywhere else. For example, Sony’s new PMX-M89 personal media player is a device that will probably never see light outside of China. This device is extremely attractive and has many features that would appeal to consumers as well as the great looking Home interface. Featured in black or white and 116.9×74.0×12.7mm, this 480×272 sized display is goregeous. Video support includes MP4 (and all the mpeg formats inbetween) and AVI; music support includes MP3, AAC, and WMA. That’s not all – there’s ebook support, a built in microphone for recording, and a FM radio. Sony has also included map software, but there is no word if there is a GPS unit inside.
