According to an article in Variety, Sony is shifting the release of the new highly anticipated James Bond movie ‘Quantum of Solace’ from November 7th to November 14th. It was recently revealed that the next Harry Potter movie that was supposed to debut around the same time has been pushed back to Summer 2009, giving Quantum some real breathing room. In its new date, “Quantum Solace” goes up against 20th Century Fox’s Nicole Kidman-Hugh Jackman epic “Australia,” from director Baz Luhrmann, Universal comedy “Role Models” and MGM comedy “Soul Men.”
“We believe Nov. 14 is a great date that allows us to play straight through Thanksgiving and right into Christmas,” Sony chair of worldwide marketing and distribution Jeff Blake said. “We believe this decision will give the public a wider opportunity to see the film over the holiday.”
