Litepanels, Inc. and Sony Electronics, Inc. have entered into an agreement under which Sony will be licensed on a nonexclusive basis to certain patents owned by Litepanels. The license is limited to certain categories of products. Other terms were not disclosed. Litepanels manufactures a broad range of LED light fixtures that have been employed in Hollywood movies and episodic television, broadcast studios (including the White House Briefing Room), as well as atop TV news crew camcorders and consumer palm-sized camcorders.
Litepanels owns a substantial portfolio of issued patents and pending patent applications covering light fixtures of various types, and in particular covers advanced lighting systems used in the motion picture, still photographic and video industries.
