VAIO TT Officially Announced
After lots of online speculations and digging inside of the FCC website, Sony has finally came clean with its new VAIO TT series – the world’s first light weight Blu-ray enabled lappy (at 2.87 lbs) and looks like their Monday announcement was almost on schedule to release this VAIO (Sony’s press release went live at 11pm EST on Monday).
As always, delicately designed this notebook will attract lots of attention. I am sure you have seen all the specs that we uncovered yesterday, where the flagship model features astounding dual channel 128 GB of Solid State beauty.
VAIO TT series is sort of a Hollywood style facelift for TZ models (unfortunately plagued with a recall). If you look at the pics, you will notice the design seems to be similar to the TZ series, however VAIO designers added a few touches to it that really make TT stand out. The colors of the bezels are pretty cool, just look at the crimson red one! Other colors available: premium carbon black, silk black, champagne gold. The AV Mode buttons are also more friendly to the touch (TZ model has round buttons and are a bit too stiff).
Pricewise, I think the basic models are pretty affordable. The TT model starts at $2,000. The BD version will go for about $2,700, while the SSD model (128GB) for around $2,750 not too shabby when certain TZ models were ringing at $4000 (though it looks like you will still be paying a pretty hefty sum of $4344 for the UX190UBX)
