Don’t you just love blurry pictures taken of unreleased Sony hardware? I don’t, but I guess we’ll just have to take what we can. It is 2008 however, and I really question with all of the advancements in technology we have today that most spy shots can be clear and in focus? Is it really that hard? Maybe I am greedy, maybe it was intentional, but nonetheless there is some exciting news today from the boys at cellphonesail. They have released specs on a new Sony Ericsson cellphone, code-named ‘Kate’, that will be released soon via Sony Ericsson. What makes this phone special? It is the first phone in the world to feature the popular Smile Shutter technology, which can essentially change any frown upside down.
Here are the reported specs:
- 5 Mega Pixel Camera with Xenon Flash (as you can see)
- A bit thicker than C902
- No GPS
- EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA (at least)
- No frontal camera for video calling
- Light Sensor
- Switch button between Still & Video as well as a button to access gallery of images you just taken
- Sony Ericsson’s Java Platform 8.4
- ‘Smile Shutter’ but lack of ‘Smart Contrast’ (I don’t know if this subject to change)
