According to Spong.com, the Playstation 3 will recieve an update that wasn’t previously mentioned in their future firmware information post yesterday. SCEE told Spong that (with the 2.5 update) “Flash 9 content becomes supported on the Internet Browser.” This has pretty big implications for the PS3, as Flash 9 includes H.264 standard video support amongst other features. Stay tuned for our tests of the new update, and if Flash 9 on the PS3 can really withstand the true test of a knowledgeable Internet user.
