The Melbourne, Florida police department are investigating a claim that a tractor-trailer with 28 pallets of Playstation 2 consoles (about 50 consoles per pallet) aka 1400 Playstation 2’s was stolen early this morning. Melbourne police Sgt. Ray Desmarais stated that the driver, with Brian Kurtz Trucking, reported the incident just before 8 AM this morning. After a long trip over the weekend, the driver slept overnight on Sunday and didn’t realize the truck was gone until he woke up Monday morning.
The driver said he called his company and was told the rig’s onboard GPS system last plotted the vehicle’s position about 8 p.m. Sunday at Loxahatchee near West Palm Beach. Officers speculate the GPS system has since been disabled.
The royal blue truck is owned by Brian Kurtz Trucking and has Ontario license plates, Desmarais said.
