Sony has yet to formally announce the MDR-NC7, but through several sources we are learning a great deal about these $49.99USD noise cancelling headphones. The world got a first glimpse of these ‘phones at Sony Japan’s Dealer’s Convention 2008 that was covered by Watch. Now pricing and information has shown up on Amazon. The NC7 has a 30mm driver (Neodymium magnet), and a convienent on/off switch for noise cancelling will still allow someone to use the headphones even if the AAA battery dies. Sony touts a 87.4% reduction in unwanted ambient noise with the NC7, which should help you avoid listening to any more banter about the political season. The foldable and swivel design allows the headphones to fold up to a small and compact size. A Plug Adaptor is included to connect directly to stereo or dual jack of in-flight music services. Watch was quoted as saying that the headphones are “comfortable” and “soft.”
